Anne Marie Cook is a partner in the Life Sciences group at Choate, Hall & Stewart. She represents life sciences companies in all aspects of their business, including structuring and negotiating strategic transactions such as joint ventures, collaborations, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property licenses, in addition to providing general legal support and advice in connection with the research, development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products. Ms. Cook also advises clients on various corporate matters, including those related to contracts, securities laws and compliance. Her experience includes serving as general and corporate counsel in the biotechnology field.

Priya, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in software solutions, strategy, and services, joined Anaqua as COO in 2005, was appointed President in 2007 and CEO in 2009. Previously Priya was responsible for Operations at Steelpoint Technologies, a legal software provider, where she drove the company from the red to profitable quarter after quarter growth. Prior to Steelpoint, Priya was Managing Partner at AGENCY.COM where she founded and grew a financial services practice to $150 million in less than 5 years. Priya has also held senior positions at Bell Labs and Foxboro Systems. Priya holds a bachelors and masters in Computer Science and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She serves on several women executive panels, is a regular guest speaker at the MIT Sloan School and serves on the Board of Governors for the Sloan Fellows Program.

Charlie Kohn is an entrepreneur who has spent the past few decades leading technology companies to dramatic expansion of revenue and market share, due to development and introduction of new technology. He holds US and foreign patents and has been involved in the corporate patent strategy of every company where he worked.
Mr. Kohn’s work experience includes General Manager of Teradyne’s Laser Systems Group, where he grew their semiconductor memory repair business from negligible size to dominant market share; Business Unit Manager of Zygo’s Motion Measurement Group, where Zygo’s new technology laser interferometer challenged and eventually overtook HP’s dominant market share; CEO of SemiTest, a venture backed start-up in semiconductor metrology, where patented new technology displaced the traditional production measurement methods, and President of Semilab USA, where Mr. Kohn established dominant market share within North America in the solar cell metrology industry. Mr. Kohn now is president of PV Metrology Consulting, LLC.
Mr. Kohn received his Electrical Engineering degree (with honors) from Cornell University and his MBA (with honors) from Boston University. He has been an advisor to BU’s Asia Pacific MBA program and has been a speaker at various association meetings.

Bruce Rubinger

Dr. Rubinger is the Managing Director and founder of Global Prior Art. He is a well-known authority and speaker on effective prior art searching, search quality metrics, and critical worldwide search resources. He has led many prior art search efforts in such fields as business processes, electronics, manufacturing, product development systems, GPS, speech recognition, RF-ID tags and diverse image processing technologies.
Since the creation of GPA in 1982, he has participated in hundreds of high stakes cases, often locating critical prior art that anticipated patents which were previously litigated successfully. From this perspective, his talk draws upon the lessons gleaned from 25 years’ search experience. It should be noted that Dr. Rubinger created Global's comprehensive worldwide search and analysis process and guided the internal development of tools for accurately analyzing the IP landscape. In addition to in-depth familiarity with U.S. sources, he has wide experience utilizing critical international sources (both patents and publications).
Dr. Rubinger's background is a blend of technology and the science of decision-making. He holds a B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E., and Ph.D. in systems science. His dissertation addressed non-linear filtering and its application to prediction and estimation. Dr. Rubinger began his career with Hughes Aircraft where he was involved in digital signal processing. He was awarded a NASA fellowship and is a member of Eta Kappa Nu and the honorary research society Sigma Xi. In 2009, for his pioneering work, Dr. Rubinger was recognized in IAM 250 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists.
The author of numerous reports on technology management and high tech trends, Dr. Rubinger has submitted titles including: Applied Artificial Intelligence in Japan: Current Status, Key R & D Performers, Strategic Focus 1988 published by Hemisphere Publishing Corporation and Factory Automation in Japan: Key Trends and Innovations 1988 published by the U.S. Department of Commerce. He is co-author of “Survey of Direct U.S. Private Capital Investment in Research & Development Facilities in Japan,” prepared for the National Science Foundation in January 1991. His articles include “Technology Policy in Japanese Firms: Decision-Making, Supplier Links and Technical Goals,” which appeared in Technology in the Modern Corporation: A Strategic Perspective, Pergamon Press 1986. He has also developed case study material for the Harvard Business School’s course on the management of innovation.
